This Boy Will Do Great Things has arrived and is being sold, read, and praised. Accolades are coming in. I’m thrilled and am savoring each moment. Here’s a preview of what I have discovered.

Stickers are highly sought after by children and adults alike. Don’t underestimate a sticker’s value. I saw one in a store for $12. I’ll give mine away for free at the BOOK LAUNCH on 10/3/26. (still time to register for locals in Bellingham) This sticker found a home on the trusted water bottle.

I was sooo excited to receive the children’s book “THIS BOY WILL DO GREAT THINGS” written by Susan Greisen. She did a fantastic job! I’ve read it over and over, and I enjoy it every time. I happened to be in the Okavango Delta where I met Susan, and it was there we both met Dima. She so accurately portrayed the area we observed, mainly from a mokoro, a traditional canoe. More than one guide told us that although their parents discouraged this “dangerous” profession, their love of the animals and the land prompted them to share it with others. Now that this book is out, the story can be shared with those who might never get to travel to Africa. Congratulations, Susan, on a job well done!

This Boy Will Do Great Things is an inspiring, uplifting picture book. It is a story of perseverance as Dima overcomes difficult odds to become a wildlife guide in the area where he grew up. It is also educational, as we are introduced to wild animals and their behaviors in the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Ultimately, this book reminds children that there are young people all over the world with hopes and dreams that can be achieved, and that wildlife is worth protecting.
