Stone splashing into a lake with concentric ripples at sunset

…Ask what you can give back to planet earth!
Giving Back was my message at the end of my Book Launch for THIS BOY WILL DO GREAT THINGS on 10/3/26. Dima was the stone in the lake that had a ripple effect of his grand impact on the Okavango Delta. His work as a wildlife guide helped shift the livelihood of his village from hunting and poaching to tourism which brought jobs to the region and ultimately saved his entire community while saving the animals too.

This is the first page of the book: the Dedication. Dima is one of those guardians. I told the book launch audience, “Ask not what planet earth can give to you, but what you can give back to planet earth.”

When you buy this book you are also giving back, because a portion of the proceeds will contribute to wildlife conservation efforts in the Okavango Delta.

We must save the wildlife and the planet for our children.

To further give back, Chelsa, the illustrator and I are donating Dima’s children’s book to his village elementary school where he volunteers and speaks to the children about the importance of wildlife conservation. So that they, too, can follow their dreams.

Yes, I came from the farm in Nebraska and Dima from a village full of wild animals, but no matter where we are from children, they too, can do great things.

I’d love for you to share your comments below.
