(I am reposting this blog from 2 days ago because the earlier slideshow link did not connect. So Sorry.)
The last time I was on an African safari was over 50 years ago in 1973. As a 20-year-old farmer’s daughter, I was gobsmacked, of course. So many animals in the plains of Tanzania and Kenya as far as the eye can see. I wrote about these encounters in my memoir, In Search of Pink Flamingos. However, the experience in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana 50 + years later was so different. This document is SAFE to download for you to view a powerful narrated sound slideshow with videos to find out why. Enjoy. I look forward to your reply.

Susan,
I don’t know what was the most amazing: the animals, the children, the waterfalls, or the women. Thank you so much for sharing.

Kathy, thanks for your comments. My head and mind was spinning from all the sights and sounds of that revisit to Africa. Maybe you can see how it is my first love.

Susan,
You are such a wonderfilled writer and yours is a life spent forward and shared.
Here is a poem of mine that might be about how you have done it all so magnificently unique:
OWNING YOUR OWN OZ
Oz —
nonsense
Zen awareness (not ‘wareness’)
Tao —
letting go
Zen —
everything
Tao —
moves within everything
Oz —
you
make it
yourself

Hello Ed,
How kind of you to share your poem. You defined me so well. Maybe this is why my conservative parents had a difficult time with me. But in the end, I was true to myself.
All the best and thanks for your loyal following.
